Region Alignment

GHSA REGION ALIGNMENT FOR 2026-2028
Chestatee High School is a member school of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA).  

In the 2026-2028 realignment, Chestatee moves from Region 6-AAA to 6-AAAA.  Despite the jump in class, this change in class was not related to a change in student population, but merely due to GHSA renumbering the two 1A divisions into a new 1A and 2A class, which bumps all the other classes up by 1 class all the way up to a new AAAAAAA.

As far as Region Opponents, we stay in Region 6 and lose Johnson High School moving up a class to AAAAA and Greater Atlanta Christian laterally to Region 5-AAAA.  Our region also sees the addition of Gilmer while Dawson County, North Hall, Pickens, and White County remain in Region 6.
